As a school we are implementing the Virtue-Based Restorative Discipline Program this school year.  VBRD is a Catholic response to bullying prevention and has two goals: to decrease anti-social behaviors and to increase faith practices.  In VBRD we work to celebrate the virtues of Christ.  The month of December celebrated the virtue of Compassion.  Compassion, which is rooted in love, is understanding or caring when someone is hurting or troubled.  Compassion is wanting to help even if all you can do is listen and say kind words.  Compassionate individual forgive mistakes and are a friend when someone needs a friend.

There were many students within our St. Simon Family that displayed Compassion in the months of December.  The teachers were given the task to honor one of their students that they felt exhibited the virtue on a daily basis.  These students were honored at our all-school Mass on Friday, January 4th.
